As part of an ambitious project, BAULNE was selected to install a new water tower at 620 René Lévesque West, owned by Yale Properties. This project illustrates BAULNE’s expertise and ability to manage large-scale, complex installations that are essential for the operation of water management systems in commercial buildings.
Mission impossible?
It goes without saying that installing a water tower in a 13-story building, through the exterior wall, in downtown Montreal, can be complex in terms of logistics. But at BAULNE, we love a challenge! We juggled schedules, deliveries and tight spaces, all without losing our good humor (or our hard hat!).
Chronology and logistics of the water tower installation
- Water tower installation: Completed in one day:
- Remove the louvers from the exterior wall
- Assemble the structure
- Pull the water tower through the new opening in the exterior wall
- Install the water tower on the structure
- Reinstall the louvers on the exterior wall
- Installation of plumbing systems: Over a two-week period, our team worked on the complete installation of the plumbing systems necessary for the optimal operation of the tower.
- Testing and start-up: To ensure efficient operation in compliance with industry and safety standards, the final week was dedicated to testing and start-up of the tower in coordination with:
- the controls technician
- the manufacturer
- the building operator
- and MMF
